Imagine you have a fantastic idea for a ballot initiative. You find a lawyer who drafts it for free, and you get it approved in Sacramento. Now, you face the daunting task of collecting enough signatures to qualify it for the ballot. This process can cost up to $10 million! Most individuals or groups can’t afford this, so many great ideas never reach the public for a vote.
At BallotIQ.org, we aim to change this. Our plan is to recruit over 500,000 registered voters who will provide their contact information and watch a brief video on how to sign a ballot initiative petition correctly, making their signatures foolproof. Once an initiative gains our support (whether it’s for Voter I.D., school choice, border security, or other issues), we’ll notify our supporters where to download the petition (usually from BallotIQ.org), sign it, get one other person to sign it, and mail it in.
With this approach, we can quickly gather one million signatures (or more), ensuring the initiative qualifies for the November ballot. In doing so, the citizens of California can reclaim the power of governance from the political class in Sacramento.
Our recommended initiatives, such as fighting crime and homelessness, lowering food, fuel, and housing prices, securing good-paying jobs, and improving education, are issues that transcend political affiliations.
